Here goes my second progress report. And pretty much like the last report, another disappointing one for sure. For those who want a summary – I made $0, had 0 visitors and published 0 posts in May’26. Bummer!
But to be honest, I would say May was better than the previous 4 months. Cause the first 4 months contributed nothing – literally nothing. But last month, I’ve drafted some 25% of the first post. Obviously, I’d have loved to publish a couple of full posts – but yeah, at least I’ve written a few hundred words.
I also went through my scribblings over the last few years. I have this habit of scribbling down things (nice ideas specifically) when I’m in philosophical mood. Like why I’m doing what I’m doing, why I shouldn’t be doing certain things, my learnings, etc. Reading through those felt nice. It was a quick peek into old days and learnings.
Well, the learnings were simple. Don’t do too many things, do what you’re doing properly, do only what I truly want to do, etc. I’ve also drafted some pages in the past which I’ve never published – I’ll publish them this month. That’s one of the goals.
I’m also working on my health goals. My goal for 2026 is to go from 73KG & 31% body fat (yeah, I was skinny fat!) to 63KG weight & 20% body fat. As of May, I’m at 68KG (which I reached by end of Mar and has plateaued since) with 27% body fat. So, yeah, not much progress there as well.
I’m paying ~$100 a month to my personal trainer, which has started to feel like not worth the investment. First few months, I was serious. Now that I’m a consistent client, it feels like my trainer has also discounted the seriousness. I should be having a talk to my trainer is a learning from this post.
On the FIRE side, the progress continues. I’m currently saving 50% of my salary (full CTC, not just in hand) every month, which roughly contributes to 0.13% of my FIRE target. My dream is to reach coast FIRE in 10 years, but at 0.13% a month of current salary, it’d take my 20 years to achieve that (I’ll be 50 & old by then😞). Hopefully, the salary increments & this blog might contribute to a faster FIRE. But let’s keep tracking and documenting the journey!
Another achievement is that I’ve linked the site to Google Analytics. Now I can properly see how many people are visiting my site. To be honest, I did it today only, but because it happened before the May update is published, I’ll consider it a May victory😉.
Another thing that’s holding me back is that I’m not able to pin or share or use social media to my advantage because there are no published posts. I guess till the time I have a handful of good posts, the blog might remain stagnant. And given how the social media landscape is evolving, it might never pick up at all. Irrespective of that, I’ll keep writing and documenting this journey publicly. As I write in all my reports, this website is kinda like a vent out & creative outlet for me, not a money-making tool.
So yeah, that’s it for May. I started a new post (still a long way to go) & linked the site to Google Analytics – that’s all for May.
